Each advisory council member plays a vital role in providing feedback on the needs of senior, disabled and veteran residents of Morris County.
As a member of the Advisory Council on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans, the Morris County Department of Human Services expects the following level of participation per the Morris County
Policy on Advisory Councils:
Community Relations: Notification of upcoming events to the administrator of the County web site. Dissemination of information to the community regarding Advisory Council issues for seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans.
Legislative Review: Review pending legislation and advocacy that are beneficial to income protection, health and taxation. Monitor legislation action in regard to bills of interest and interact with other legislative advocacy groups.
Planning/Program Review Committee: Assess priority needs and services of the senior, disabled and veteran population. Review and make recommendations for future funding.
MAPS Citizen Advisory Committee: Review current issues pertaining to transportation of senior and disabled residents of Morris County. By appointment by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
